How to obtain a building permit: Applications can be picked up at City Hall or mailed to you. At this time, applications are NOT available online.
How to pay for a building permit: After the application has been completed, you will be told of the amount due. Checks must be made out to CHISAGO COUNTY TREASURER and included with your application. You can drop off your application or mail to the City Hall at 325 S. Eliot Avenue, PO Box 556. Credit or debit card payments are accepted IN PERSON ONLY at the Chisago County Zoning office at
313 N. Main Street, Center City.
What’s next: After the application has been completed and paid for, Chisago County will receive your application and issue the building permit, usually within one to two weeks.
For new construction, a survey of the property and two sets of plans are required with the completed application.
